Signing a Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation Between the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Kuwait Red Crescent Society and Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development

A tripartite Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation was signed today in the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Headquarters in Geneva, between the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) and Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) to establish a framework for cooperation among the Parties over five years with a view to enhancing collaboration in common areas of interest and in countries in which the Parties have active programs and activities.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on behalf of International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies by Mr. Jagan Chapagain, Secretary General, on behalf of Kuwait Red Crescent Sociaty by Ms. Maha Barjas Al–Barjas, Secretary General, and on behalf of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development by Mr. Marwan A. Th. AlGhanem, Director General.
The Parties anticipate that their collaboration will focus on a number of specific areas of activity best fitting their respective mandates, which may include, but not be limited to: Exchange of information and promotion of knowledge-sharing to benefit from each other's experiences, resources and expertise, potential areas of information may include information on projects and programmes related to issues of common interests, which include, but are not limited to, sustainable livelihood, peacebuilding, crisis prevention and recovery, post-crisis stabilization, and humanitarian-development-peace nexus, conduct consultations from time to time to coordinate operations and activities in countries, taking into consideration the respective mandate, objectives, policies and guidelines of the Parties, exchange of publications and studies undertaken by the IFRC, KRCS or Kuwait Fund, participate in forums, seminars or workshops on matters of common interest undertake other related activities as may be agreed upon by the Parties from time to time.
