Technical Details:
Project Objectives | The Project aims at diversifying sources of income and promoting economic and social development in the central region of the Sultanate by taking advantage of the strategic location and close proximity of Al-Duqm Bay to international maritime routes in the Arabian Sea and constructing a new port with drydocks that will provide advanced and competitive services for the repair and maintenance of ships and super-tankers. The Project will also provide shipping services for products of the central region and trans-shipment services for transit trade. |

Project Description | Construction of a new port in the Gulf of Dugm comprising 5.5 km long breakwaters, a 17 m deep, 700 m long mulipurpose quay, and 2 graving drydocks for vessels up to 400,000 tonnes, in addition to port buidlings and a coastguard terminal. |
