| Project Objectives | The Project aims to support the economic and social development and the food security and poverty alleviation programmes in the South and North Wollo Regions, by improving their integration within the regional and national road network of Ethiopia, to facilitate people’s access to markets and social services in all weather conditions, and reduce transport cost and travel time. The project will also improve road safety and reduce air pollution. |

| Project Description | The Project comprises the improvement of the existing gravel road between Dessie, Kuta Ber and Tenta Junction to bituminous road standards with a total length of about 67.5 km and a width of 7 m with 1.5 m gravel shoulders on each side, increasing to 2.5-3.5 m parking lanes in populated areas. The Project also includes consultancy services for supervision of construction works. |
