Project Description | The project involves constructing the Kaluganga Dam, a connecting canal, Morgah Canada Dam, a tunnel, channel development, land reclamation, settlement tasks, environmental safeguards, and engineering support. Key elements: 1) **Preparatory Work:** 2) **Kaluganga Dam:** Height: 67m, length: 546m, width: 8m, 265M cubic m storage. 3) **Secondary Dams:** Cumulus (238m long, 47m high) and earthen (65m long, 8m high). 4) **Construction Equipment:** Heavy machinery for Mahaweli Commission. 5) **Connecting Channel:** 6) **Second Bawatna Tunnel:** 7) **Channel Rehabilitation:** 8) **Main Canal Extension:** 9) **Resettlement:** Housing, services, irrigation, drainage for 635 families, 2,000 hectares. 10) **Environmental Protection:** Afforestation, fences, protection area, reservoir rehab. 11) **Engineering Services:** Planning, studies, detailed designs, supervision for items 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8. |
