| Project Objectives | The Project aims to support the economic and social development in Sourou valley, through the hydro-agriculture development of about 2000 ha. of agricultural lands at Sono and Kouri areas, to diversify and intensify agricultural production, enhance product marketing, promote sedentary livestock farming, fish farming and forestry around the targeted lands, and support beneficiaries. Thus, introducing new employment opportunities especially for women and youth, reduce poverty, and improve beneficiaries’ income, and support the Government food security strategy and accelerate strong, inclusive and resilient economic growth |
| Project Description | The Project consists mainly of, the civil and electromechanical works to develop the targeted lands, by constructing an irrigation schemes, which includes feed channels, pump stations, solar system, irrigation and drainage networks. The Project also includes, the support of perimeter development, the land tenure security, the backup measures, the coordination, management and monitoring evaluation. It also includes, the consulting services for the review of the existing studies, preparation of the detail design, the tender documents, the Project supervision, the Institutional Support, and Land acquisition. |
