"20 Years, 1000 Engineers" The Kuwait Fund for Development Celebrates the 20th Anniversary of its "Training Program for Kuwaiti Newly-Graduated Engineers and Architects"

His Excellency Mr. Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Fund for Development, graced the ceremony honoring the "Training Program for Kuwaiti Newly-Graduated Engineers and Architects" with his patronage and presence. The ceremony was held at the Kuwait Fund headquarters on Monday evening under the theme "20 Years, 1000 Engineers," celebrating the program's 20th anniversary and the graduation of over 1,000 young Kuwaiti engineers.

Al-Yahya expressed his happiness at celebrating the success of the program, describing it as a beacon in empowering young national competencies. In a speech delivered during the ceremony, he stated, "We reaffirm to you that we, in the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Fund, are committed to training and qualifying newly graduated engineers. In fact, I call upon the Kuwait Fund and various state entities to activate other training programs related to e-commerce, artificial intelligence, and the digital economy, as these specializations represent a new life drawn for us by human and civilizational development."

For his part, Mr. Waleed Shamlan Al-Bahar, Acting Director-General of the Kuwait Fund for Development, said in a speech delivered on the sidelines of the ceremony, "Today, we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the launch of ‘Training Program for Kuwaiti Newly-Graduated Engineers and Architects’. This training program represents one of the fundamental pillars of the Kuwait Fund's vision in empowering Kuwaiti youth."

He added, "The program has not been limited to preparing engineers for the job market; rather, we have been keen to have contributions that serve our local community by providing the necessary expertise that enables them to develop their work, elevate the national institutions, and strive to develop the nation."

The Acting Director-General of the Fund also honored His Excellency the Minister for his patronage and attendance at the ceremony, in addition to honoring the participating entities, the engineering selection committee, and the program's former and current officials from the Kuwait Fund for Development. His Excellency the Minister also toured the accompanying exhibition, which featured the participation of a number of companies affiliated with the program's graduates.

It is worth noting that the Fund launched the "Training Program for Kuwaiti Newly-Graduated Engineers and Architects" in 2004, with the aim of supporting national human resources and meeting the needs of the labor market in the State of Kuwait. The program focuses on all engineering specializations and provides newly-graduated Kuwaiti engineers and architects with the necessary skills and knowledge to work in the private sector, giving them experience in an effort to increase their capabilities and expertise, and providing the local market with competencies in cooperation with local and international companies.
