Support Syrian Refugees In The Hashemite Kingdom Of Jordan

A Grant Agreement was signed today in Amman in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Hamad Al-Du'aij, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, whereby the Kuwait Fund provide a Grant in the amount of US$ 18 to assist in financing several projects that support Syrian Refugees in Jordanian hosting communities.                       

The Grant Agreement was signed on behalf of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan by His Excellency Dr. Ibrahim Saif, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, whereas Mr. Abdulwahab Ahmed Al-Bader, Director-General of Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, signed the Agreement on behalf of the Fund.

1.Supply Mechanisms

Provision of four solid waste compactors, two loaders, one tipper, and one electrical crane for the Governorate of Irbid, the Municipalities (Tabq elFahel, Rabia elKoura, Umm Alkotain, Deer Alkahef, and Prince Hussein bin Abdullah).

 The total cost of the Projects is estimated at about US$. 18 million, equivalent to about JD 13 million the Grant will cover 100% of the cost.

It is worth mentioning that the number of loans provided by the Kuwait Fund for Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan 26 Loans totaling about 170 million Kuwaiti Dinars, the equivalent of about 580 million U.S. Dollars to finance projects in various sectors, in addition to the Government of Kuwait Grant of US$. 1.25 billion to finance development projects in Jordan and 6 Grants and Technical Assistance totaling about 3.1 million Kuwaiti Dinars, equivalent to about 10.9 million U.S. Dollars to finance the preparation of the technical and economic feasibility studies for a number of economic projects.
