The delegation of male and female students participating in the “Be Among the Outstanding” program organized by the Kuwait Fund for Development for secondary school students in cooperation with the Ministry of Education concluded its cultural and recreational trips to the Republics of Rwanda and Tajikistan.
The students’ trip in the Republic of Tajikistan included tours in the capital, in addition to a cultural tour of the Botanical Garden (Eram Garden), which includes a group of rare and distinctive plants and trees from all over the world.
The students visited the Independence Museum, which includes some cultural monuments, where the student Shuruq Al-Azmi said: "We noticed the presence of mountains and plains in many beautiful paintings, as they are a cultural landmark in the Republic of Tajikistan."
The students also visited the (Gulyab) road project, which is funded by a loan from the Kuwait Fund for Development at a value of 50 million Kuwaiti dinars, and extends for a length of 40 kilometers. Around the (Gulab) road, we have noticed the concentration of new houses and villages around the street.
The students’ trip to the Republic of Rwanda was also varied. The students visited the Genocide memorial museum in the capital, Kigali, which was opened in 2004. Through this trip, the students learned about the culture and history of the Republic of Rwanda. The students also took an introductory and reconnaissance tour of the nature of the region, including heights and mountains around the capital.
During the trip, the students visited Munini Hospital in the southern province of the Republic of Rwanda, which is funded by the Kuwait Fund for Development. The students learned about the Fund’s role in supporting social development and improving the level of health care services in the Nyar Guru region. Student Faisal Al-Daihani said: “My colleagues and I felt proud of our homeland, Kuwait. And his humanitarian contributions, which we witnessed on the ground, are grateful for the development efforts that the Kuwait Fund contributes to raising the name of Kuwait high.
During their trip, the students also visited the "Palace of the Kings" museum in the southern region "Nyanza", which documents the state's royal era from the eleventh century until 1961. The trip included several breaks and exploratory tours of tea and coffee plantations, landscapes and suspension bridges between the mountains.
At the end of the last day of their trip, the students expressed their happiness with this unique experience, which gave them the opportunity to learn about projects funded by the Kuwait Fund in Rwanda and their pride in the achievements of Kuwait, which always extends a helping hand and assistance to poor and needy countries. Student Nasser Al-Barazi expressed his deep thanks to the Kuwait Fund and the Ministry of Education For organizing the trip, which came in honor of their academic efforts and to motivate them to persevere and strive, commenting: "The trip enriched our perceptions and enriched our culture about the world around us."
It is worth noting that the two trips were part of the twelfth edition of the "Be Among the Outstanding" initiative launched by the Kuwait Fund in 2010, which is part of the local initiatives of the Kuwait Fund for Development.
