News Detail - Kuwait Fund
Under the auspices of President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the 58th Annual Meetings of the Board of Governors of the African Development Bank (AFDB) and the 49th Meetings of the Board of Governors of the African Development Fund have kicked off on May 22nd in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh, with participation of Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED).
The five-day event, themed "Mobilizing Private Sector Finance for Climate and Green Growth in Africa," provides a platform for the Bank's Group of Governors to share their experiences in stimulating domestic and international private finance.
The meetings also pose an opportunity for the governors to share their knowledge on leveraging natural capital in order to bridge the climate financing gap, and help foster the transition towards green growth in Africa.
The participating Kuwait Fund delegation at the event includes Acting Director-General Waleed Shamlan Al-Bahar, also the Alternate Governor for the State of Kuwait, alongside a number of the Fund staff.
