The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development participated in the Global Training Portal Conference, in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development. The conference, titled 'Integrating Persons with Disabilities in the Goals of Sustainable Development in the fields of Media, Health, and Entertainment, in line with the New Kuwait 2035 vision', was focused on integrating people with disabilities into society through local, regional, and international activities. The conference was held at Kuwait University from November 13th to 15th, 2023.

The Fund also participated in the exhibition accompanying the conference, through its own dedicated pavilion where it displayed its publications and media releases that highlight the Fund's developmental role at the local, regional, and international levels.

From her part, Ms. Kifayah Al-Alban, Director of the Global Training Portal, stated that the conference aims to advocate for the issues of persons with disabilities. It seeks to improve their lives and those of their families by building bridges of cooperation between various sectors in civil society, ultimately making Kuwaiti society more inclusive for all, without discrimination due to disability.

Al-Alban added that the partnership with the Fund is of great importance, as cooperation between the Kuwaiti Fund and the Global Training Portal has extended for more than 10 years now, which has contributed to achieving Goal No. 17 of the Sustainable Development Goals, which is concerned with strengthening the global partnership.

In line with its social responsibility, the Kuwait Fund spares no effort in supporting individuals with special needs in Kuwait, especially in issues related to raising media awareness about people with disabilities and ensuring the provision of health services to them.
