Kuwait Fund Organizes Orientation for the 40th Batch of Participants in the Training Program for Kuwaiti Newly-Graduated Engineers and Architects

In the presence of the Acting Director General of the Kuwait Fund, Mr. Waleed Shamlan Al-Bahar, the Administrative Development and Training Department at the Kuwait Fund for Development organized an orientation session for participants in the 40th batch of the Training Program for Kuwaiti Newly-Graduated Engineers and Architects.

Al-Bahar stated in a speech he delivered during the session that the program is receiving enormous local interest, as it contributes to supporting human development efforts in Kuwait. He explained that the participants are carefully selected to ensure that they acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to reach a high level of professionalism in a short period of time. He added that the comprehensive training program, since its onset in 2004, has sought to meet the needs of the local market for these important specialties, especially in the private sector.

On the sidelines of the orientation session, Engineer Sarah Khalaf, one of the participants in the 40th batch of the program, said that she is seeking to develop herself and refine her skills as an engineer through the Training Program for Kuwaiti Newly-Graduated Engineers and Architects. She expressed her aspiration to gain the necessary scientific and practical experience within the various stages of the program and apply it in her work after graduating from the program.

It is noteworthy that the program consists of 3 stages with a duration of 13 months. The first stage lasts 3 months and includes lectures, workshops, and practical applications covering engineering, technical, administrative, and financial aspects, distributed over 13 weeks. The second stage lasts 6 months and includes overseas field training with international or regional companies, institutions, or organizations. Participants are trained practically in engineering and technical applications by joining the departments and sections of these companies and working in them on a daily basis.

As for the third stage, it lasts for 3 months and includes field training within Kuwait with companies, institutions, or factories, often belonging to the private sector. It is worth noting that up to 39 batches comprising more than 1,000 newly-graduated Kuwaiti engineers and architects, have been trained. Keen on backing up human resources’ development in Kuwait, the program aims to support the national economy and refine the skills and experiences of Kuwaiti youth.
