As part of ongoing cooperation between development institutions, the Kuwait Fund for Development participated in the second workshop on climate finance for the Arab Coordination Group. This event took place at the headquarters of the Saudi Fund for Development in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from June 4 to June 5, 2024, and was attended by member institutions and Funds of the Arab Coordination Group.

Representing the Kuwait Fund for Development at the workshop were Mr. Ahmed Ali Al-Sabah, Assistant Economic Advisor, and Ms. Manar Mohammed Mansour, Senior Specialist Engineer. The workshop focused on developing a structured approach for cooperation among the participating entities and unifying international efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Kuwait Fund has long prioritized the environmental sector through its development contributions, encouraging the implementation of clean energy projects with minimal environmental impact. These projects include new thermal power plants and the enhancement of existing plants, which significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

The Arab Coordination Group is a strategic alliance aimed at enhancing efforts to achieve sustainable development in communities and fostering joint work among its members to improve the effective distribution of resources and provision of assistance. The group seeks to develop coordinated and effective solutions for development financing.
