News Detail - Kuwait Fund
The Kuwait Fund for Development announces the commencement of the Sanitation Infrastructure Development Project in Aden, Yemen, in collaboration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and local authorities. This initiative represents a significant effort to improve the health and living conditions of Yemenis, as well as refugees and displaced persons in the region.
The project, expected to benefit approximately 1.5 million people by 2026, aims to enhance the quality of life for residents of Dar Saad, Sheikh Othman, and Al-Mansoura by improving sewage systems and reducing the spread of waterborne diseases. This will contribute to creating a healthier environment for current and future generations.
On this occasion, Acting Director General of the Kuwait Fund, Mr. Waleed Shamlan Al-Bahar stated: "This project reflects the Kuwait Fund's commitment to supporting initiatives that improve the health and well-being of communities. It represents a crucial step towards rebuilding the health infrastructure in Aden, which aligns perfectly with our mission to promote sustainable development in the region."
It is noteworthy that the Kuwait Fund for Development has financed over 30 projects in Yemen, demonstrating its deep commitment to achieving sustainable development and the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the region. The Fund continues to work diligently to support development efforts worldwide, with a focus on improving quality of life and enhancing stability and well-being for local communities.
