Signing of Grant Agreement between Kuwait Fund and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (Global Fund) to contribute to the Seventh Replenishment of the Global Fund for the period 2023 - 2025



 

Today, the Kuwait Fund and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (Global Fund) signed a Grant Agreement to contribute to the Seventh Replenishment of The Global Fund's Resources for The Period 2023 - 2025.

The Grant Agreement aims to contribute to achieving the following goals: saving the lives of more than 20 million people during the specified period (2023 - 2025), in addition to reducing the mortality rate by 60%. It will also help prevent up to 450 million new cases of AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria. Moreover, it will encourage private sector participation in investing in various health, medical, and therapeutic activities by providing diverse services and means, as well as institutional support and capacity building in collaboration with governments in the concerned countries. The agreement also aims to contribute to building and developing flexible and sustainable health systems in the beneficiary countries.

The Grant Agreement was signed by Mrs. Françoise Vanni on behalf of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and by Mr. Waleed Shamlan Al-Bahar, Acting Director General, on behalf of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.
