News Detail - Kuwait Fund
Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) held an awareness seminar today for its staff on breast cancer, coinciding with the world’s marking of World Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2024.
The event is part of the Fund’s social responsibility in the health field, KFAED said in a statement, adding it was organized in cooperation with the Health Ministry-affiliated National Early Detection Program for Breast Cancer, Cancer Aware Nation (CAN), and Kuwait Counseling Center.
During the seminar, participants discussed means of raising awareness on breast cancer disease and ways to prevent it, the Fund said, noting the seminar was conducted by Dr. Joanne Hands, Clinical Director and Therapist at Kuwait Counseling Center, and President of the Middle East Psychological Association.
“State institutions play significant and influential role in raising public awareness on cancer diseases for society and individuals through holding such seminars,” Hands said, adding “the seminar focused on breast cancer awareness and its close connection to mental health”.
She also stressed the importance of following the stability of mental health, and acquiring assistance when needed in order to prevent several medical cases, noting state institutions cooperation with mental health centers is essential for their stability.
